Certificated and Traceable Down "Track my Down"

Certificated and Traceable Down "Track my Down"

Down is an excellent insulator because its unique structure traps air, providing unparalleled warmth while being lightweight. It is sustainable because it efficiently reuses a natural byproduct of the food industry, minimizing waste.

We predominantly source our down from Allied Feather + Down, which is certified by the Responsible Down Standard (RDS) and bluesign®, reflecting our commitment to ethical and sustainable sourcing practices. However, on occasions when we do not use down from Allied Feather + Down, we ensure that the alternative down is also RDS certified duck down, maintaining our high standards for ethical and sustainable sourcing.

With 'Track My Down' from Allied Feather + Down, you can gain a deeper understanding of the premium down products that keep you warm, ensuring they have been responsibly sourced.

This comprehensive system traces every cluster of down from the farms, through shipping and production, blending, all the way to the factory, allowing you to discover exactly what makes the down inside your garment unique. This includes verified fill powers, cleanliness, content analysis, origin, and certifications, with every product featuring a unique ID number/QR code for a full insight into its background.

Following the care instructions and maintaining your garment is crucial to extend its lifespan and prevent issues. Dirt, abnormal wear, and damage can affect the material's durability.

Down Jackets

First and most importantly, do not wash your clothes too often. Instead, air out the product and remove spots by hand. By doing this, you will save water and energy, and prevent microfibers from leaking.

Following the care instructions and maintaining your garment is crucial to extend its lifespan and prevent issues. Dirt, abnormal wear, and damage can affect the material's durability.

When you first try on your new down jacket, allow the garment to hang for a while so the down feathers can expand fully.

Our lightweight down jackets are constructed with very fine feathers placed between the outer fabric and lining. Therefore, some feathers may occasionally escape. This cannot be completely avoided.

If you happen to get a small hole in your garment, please contact us, and we will send you a repair patch.

If the outer fabric becomes heavily soiled, it is recommended to wash the jacket to preserve its quality and extend its lifespan.

Wash your product on a gentle program designed for down jackets or duvets in cold water at 30°C, ensuring all zippers are closed. Tumble dry on low heat with 2-3 soft, clean tennis balls until the garment is completely dry. This process may take some time.

When washing down items, it's recommended to wash separately using a biodegradable and fluorocarbon-free detergent, specially formulated for down products, without enzymes. Avoid using fabric softener and apply a fluorocarbon-free impregnation post-wash.

Additional care instructions for the Jämtland & Kiruna models: These products require a large dryer, so we recommend washing only at a professional cleaner.

Water repellent treatments can be reapplied by washing or spraying. Ensure to use an organic DWR (Durable Water Repellent) for environmental safety. You can purchase OrganoTex Spray-On and OrganoTex Detergents right here at vargclothes.com.

If you are unsure of how to wash and care for your garment, contact us and we will guide you.

  • Machine wash in cold water. Do not bleach. Do not iron. Tumble dry on low heat with 2-3 clean tennis balls. Wash separately. Do not hang dry in direct sunlight or near hot surfaces. Do not dry clean.
